Police refutes, says 'natural death'

Srinagar, December 05 (KNO) : An elderly woman who was asthma patient died of cardio pulmonary arrested at her residence in Bandipora on Wednesday amid heavy tear gas shelling by forces during clashes, reports said.According to KNO correspondent, the woman identified as a 60-year-old women, Hajira Begum died of Hajin town of Bandipora district here died after smoke from the teargas shells and pepper gas spread in the area during the clashes.However, Police denied the allegations. Nazir Ahmad, husband of a woman said that intense firing of teargas shells and pepper shells was going on. “My wife developed serious complications and couldn't even breathe properly," he said. He said that forces fired pepper and teargas shells to quell the protesters during which his wife felt unconscious and "when we took her to hospital, she was brought dead."However, BMO Hajin, Dr Tariq said that, she probably has died of Cardio pulmonary arrest."The deceased was already Asthma patient and was discharged from the hospital before some days," he said, adding that the cause of her dead could be due to suffocation.However, Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) while talking to KNO denied the reports, terming the allegations as baseless, saying that she died a natural death.(KNO)
